Quick update amidst the holiday packing

I'm quite convinced that I am somewhat of a last-minute person... when left with 2 more days till I'm off to Singapore, what do I do? Suddenly decide that a spontaneous $10 earring sale is a good idea. And of course keep making more jewellery. In stark contrast, the pile of clothes that ought to be packed for the trip is still placidly sitting on the bed and the luggage bag is still empty... surely my priorities are a little mixed up right now, but I blame jewellery-making withdrawal symptoms - it's all hitting me too hard, too fast.

Whilst everyone's properly settling back into the festivities of holidays and perhaps the more organised amongst us will actually start thinking about Christmas presents for friends and family (trust me I'm not quite there yet), do take note of the following:

I'm back after half a year... wow

Hello everyone!

I cannot believe it has been half a year since I last updated this place! I know I keep saying generic stuff like this everytime I return, but it always seems to be that way. In any case, I'm back - for a good 3 months, that is - and have been enjoying myself thoroughly. A few highlights from the past few days that I've been back include going out with family for my birthday dinner yesterday, a highlight-to-be is meeting up with friends tomorrow in the city, and having a massive wardrobe renovation. I can't wait for the holidays - we'll be jetting off to Singapore on the 28th of November so with that...

While I'm at it, because Christmas is approaching and I'm feeling in a particularly generous mood, why not have another clearance sale. Hello everyone!

Firstly, a huge THANKYOU to everyone who supported TRJ's massive mid-year sale! The past 2 days have been a blur of orders, but thankfully it'll all die down by the end of tomorrow. Alright so 5 new pieces have been added to the webby, hurrah. But that's not going to make up for the...93876682 days that I haven't updated this website in the past 2 months? Anyway - long story short, I've decided that I'm not going to be moving my beads up with me to Canberra, so it's going to be another dry spell here at The Red Jewel for the next 2 months till I get back in July. Sorry about that! In the meantime, stay warm and take care! It's getting colder now, brr. NOT looking forward to the minus something winters in Canberra!

Chirp chirp, Sam's back!

It's great to be back! Whilst gallivanting in Melbourne City I saw a cute bird quite similar to the one picture above (swallow? sparrow? mehhhh) and I got totally inspired to give the website a complete makeover, nature-themed with hints of girly and crafty in it. The result? 2 days completely wasted at the computer, but a very happy me. Oh and of course a much prettier website!

So if you guys haven't already seen my latest Twitter update, I did indeed come back to find that all my beads had been thoughtfully packed away for me in a box and shoved under my bed. Stubbornly, because I was really looking forward to making more stuff once I'd got back to Melbourne, I moved those boxes out from under the bed and haven't yet found a place to set all my beads up... but I will soon enough. Good news, though: I will be bringing every single last bead with me back up to Canberra when I go back next Saturday so The Red Jewel will have a new lease of life, hurrah!

For now... I have to get back to my very overdue holiday homework. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting stuff underway!

A new year, a new collection

Hello hello! It has seriously been too long! My holidays have been breathtaking, fattening but most importantly, relaxing - but it's good to be back after almost 2 months overseas. No wonder they say Home Sweet Home. Despite jetlag, crazy unpacking and uni application in the past week I've managed to squeeze in a bit of jewellery making, and came up with this festive collection, just in time for Chinese New Year.

Also - with the advent of my very imminent move away from Melbourne for uni, it is with great regret that I announce that I will unfortunately not be able to make as much stuff as I'd like to in the near future. That said, The Red Jewel is therefore going to have a little respite until I graduate... (wow that makes me seem so old)

But fear not! I will, as much as I can, update this website - I'll see if I can squeeze in some beads and pliers along with my luggage. Finally as a big thank you to all of you for your support over these years... ,

I'm proud to present a piece I made this morning up for auction! I was feeling a little low on inspiration, so I started surfing the web for quotes and I stumbled across a whole range of beautiful Peter Pan quotes. I've chosen my favourite and decided to base this auction item on it. Wispy, fairylike and painted in colours of the woods, this necklace packs the punch of the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell and ultimately the magic of this much-loved Disney cartoon, Peter Pan.

I've decided to speed this auction up a bit because I'm leaving soon for holidays, so it'll only last for 4 days instead of the usual 7. Sorry!

The month of holidays and partying! What bliss! All this and more, coming up this month.

A brief holiday update: my room has never been cleaner since I recently suffered from a panic attack, brought on by the incredible mess of needles, thread, appliques, buttons and clips that my sewing ventures precipitated. I'll be uploading pics of what hairclips I came up with over these few days - not too many, but still reasonably something exciting to look forward to =)

Just so everyone knows: I'll be leaving for my holidays on the 12th of December to Korea and Singapore so all customizations and orders should ideally come in before that, seeing as I most probably won't be lugging around a kilo of beads and pliers around the globe with me! I'll be back in Melbourne sometime late January but will try to keep the website updated (possibly with photos!) of my travel.

Other than that, hope everything is coming along well with everyone. Eat, drink and be merry!

Dear Everyone!

I have exciting news!!! This Wednesday, the 18th of November 2009, will be The Red Jewel's first ever STALL at Caribbean Market!!! Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyy!!!

I have no idea how it is going to turn out, but I am all set to go! I've just got to make little signs to display on the stall table, plus some signs to indicate prices for the earring stands. Thanks to my lovely sister and mum, we spent a good 1+++ hours tonight making tags, threading them, pricing them and putting them on the jewellery! I could NOT have done all that without their help.

BAZAM. I'm back!

It has been too long! After 2 whole weeks of sheer torture, sleepless nights and immensely high stress levels, the dreaded exams are finally over today! It was a glorious day and was well-spent with very special people shopping down Chapel Street. I even got a skirt from Dotti! :O However the real exhilaration that I was expecting hasn't quite kicked in yet, probably needs a good night's sleep to realize. The thought of being able to wake up Whenever I Want tomorrow makes me so excited, my toes are tingling! So this newfound sense of liberation is slightly daunting, weird yet welcoming all at the same time.

Naturally, this means a lot more time available on my hands, so the workshop's looking potentially busy! I've compiled the following pieces I made during my difficult time of exams into a small collection, hope y'all like! I know I haven't had a collection since forever, but I'm hoping to get more out now that I have a lot more time to play with. Without having made these pieces, I am absoloutely positive I would have gone bonkers from the crazy high stress from the exams, and would not be sitting here calmly typing this out. So this is a very special collection! I decided to call it 'Simple Pleasures' because it reflects the bliss that one finds in the most unexpected ways.

I am actually going to churn out new pieces every so often from now on (and I think I may actually mean it for real this time!) so do keep checking back :) Thank you for all your patience during this difficult time; now that The Red Jewel's back in business you can definitely expect regular eye candy here any day!

I've been working on a customized order recently for this bracelet-necklace set and the result was just lovely! Elizabeth, hope that you like this set as much as I do and that it matches your dress well :)

I've also come up with a custom made ring design for Elizabeth - not as part of the set above but just for separate wear. The joys of ring-making! Tedious, but rewarding.

Hello everyone!!! No I haven't gone for a holiday or anything of the sort - in fact quite the opposite. My trial exams are over!! They were on this whole week and pretty much drove me up the wall; e.g. Yesterday I wrote 5 history essays!

For now - spent this glorious, liberating morning making more stuff. I woke up to the feeling of: 'hey there's actually nothing to do today.' It was an awesome feeling. Made stuff, went out for yum cha, came back, lazed about, helped with a teeny bit of housework and now typing this out.

I found a cool, albeit lazy, way of zooming images in! Now all you have to do is hover over the existing image and a little popup thingamajigee will come up. So new pieces will be equipped with this handy feature as it's really too much trouble to go through all the existing ones.

Behold.

A sight I am not at all proud to acknowledge that, at this very moment as I type, still exists in my room. On my desk. On my Study Desk.

We had a barbeque today and had family friends over. My dad, being the great host as he always is, decides that we need a table to sit outside on the patio and eat because it was just such glorious weather. (it actually was, though; this afternoon. Amazing weather.)

But wheretogetthetable? Rather, whotogetthetablefrom? Very conveniently, I was in the shower when he pounced upon my workdesk. Mind, this is not my HOMEwork desk; this is The Red Jewel workdesk - my workshop! My life! And he swiftly and assuredly took the liberty of moving everyyyyyyyyyyything, every single last bead, off the table and stowed it all in my study, on my HOMEwork desk. Or not anymore, as present circumstances dictate.

Hence my sitting at the dining table right now, typing this out in a huff. It's just a vicious cycle of migration!

ANYHOW - hope everyone's been keeping well; holidays for me now hence the much more sporadic and abnormally frequent updating of the site - which is in no way beneficial toward my study apart from the fact that it does keep me relatively saner (than if I didn't make any jewellery at all) so there is heaps more jewellery uploaded to the site if you haven't already realised :)

Hopefully my work table will be restored to its original place soon so that my life can proceed as per normal.

The Ghost Of Banquo earrings + ring

I've been feeling pretty inspired lately and so came up with these custom pieces for a customer who wanted something to match the Ghost of Banquo necklace :)

On a side note, there have just been a littering of new pieces uploaded on the site in the past few days if you haven't noticed, so do check them out too if you haven't! I'm thinking of breaking out of the religious new-pieces-every-month thing and just posting stuff up whenever I feel like it. Ho-hum, food for thought.

(yes, it took me almost 3 years to figure this out. I am quite ashamed.)

Nevertheless, with the advent of this new discovery, you'll find that the images of the jewellery when you first go into individual categories to view them are a little smaller; but I think that improves the overall orderliness of the site and keeps things more compact. See something you like? Click on it and it should blow up a little bigger for a better look. Winter Monarch

I was feeling a little bored/creative the other day and wanted to create a hand-wired pendant.

For a long time I've had these metal butterfly pendants. As much as they are ornate and pretty in their plain simple way, I wanted to wire some stuff onto it - and I did!

I was quite pleased with the outcome, considering it was my first time ever trying something like this!

This is an extremely belated post, but sometime in May, I customized these pieces to suit my dress for my formal! I'm mainly putting these up as eye candy on the site as some pieces are subject to availability of material. I know I'll definitely have to stock up on swarovski pearls after this!

In addition, I customized this pair of earrings for a friend to suit her dress too! It turned out rather lovely and definitely made her a sparkling star of the night!

"The Ghost of Banquo"

I'm sure we're all familiar with, or at least have heard of, Shakespeare's much loved play, Macbeth. A particular scene that I have an immense sentimental attachment to (some of you will know why!) is Act 3 Scene 4, when Banquo's ghost appears at Macbeth's banquet.

Not only does it touch on the very real themes of betrayal and ambition; Banquo's ghost is very much a manifestation of Macbeth's evil deeds, a surfacing of his conscience and a reminder of the extent to which he, in his ruthless quest for the throne, invariably lost all compassion and sanity in his conversion into a cold-hearted monster.

And with every great play comes an equally great necklace (or so I hope)! Presenting... The Ghost of Banquo.

Admittedly, it's not half as ghostly as I would have liked it to be, but I was quite pleased with the overall outcome, what with its pearlescent sheen! For Macbeth avids, do note the symbolism of 'three' that I subtly incorporated into the necklace - the three witches, the three prophecies... - all neatly captured in the three metal discs, etc.

I'm happy as a clam with this newest bracelet to the collection, Pocket of Gold. As mentioned in the bracelet description, this delightful piece features the last of my gold-plated charms, so they're all thrown into this bracelet in a random assortment! That said, this will be the one and only piece that I can make of this design.

Here are a few more items I came up with recently, hope y'all like :) View them in their respective categories of earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

I am especially proud of one of my newly made bracelets, The Constant Gardener.

It took me forever to get the beads on it to sit right! I wanted something that was a little different to what I usually made, and also tried to make it chunkier. The result was very satisfying though!

Look who COULDN'T stay away from this long-stagnated place a few days longer!

Been pretty busy with heaps of stuff at school and the like; the past few weeks have simply been unbearable. To relax however, I've made heaps more pretty jewellery (some of which I've already uploaded on the site) and also, this gorgeous necklace - A Scattering of Nought.

It took me a while to assemble, so I decided:

Best wishes to all, this rather belated greeting brings. To usher in the new year, I've taken the liberty of giving the website another complete makeover! The lace details really delight me to no end. Hope you guys like it as much as I do!

As for my status report, I'm returning to Melbourne on the 28th, so all pending orders will be carried out as fast as my abilities allow. Thank you everyone for your undulating patience in my very busy period of rest (what do you know... a paradox!).

Bead shopping has been very fruitful here in Singapore, BUT but but I forsee myself getting sucked right into school the minute I get back and assimilate into Life- so future releases might not be in a while. Rest assured I'll try as much as possible to come up with new things to keep myself sane though. Meanwhile, stay perky!

Now holidaying in hot and sunny Singapore, which has very good food and shopping!!! This round's pieces are mostly bracelets... you can say I had a bit of a brainwave for those over earrings and necklaces this time! Note the special lampwork beads I used for many of the pieces. Hi everyone,

As I'm busy churning out the last few pieces of the Christmas collection, just thought that I'd let you guys in on a very important piece of news pertaining potential orders: I will be flying off to Singapore on the 7th of December for my hard-earned holidays and will not be back till end January next year, meaning that I will be MIA as far as new releases to The Red Jewel is concerned for around 2 months!

Unfortunately, in these 2 months of my holidaying overseas, I won't be able to accept new orders; hence, I will stop receiving new orders* w.e.f the 5th of December (next Friday).

*If you want to order something that is not yet marked as 'Sold Out' during the period of my holiday, you can still email me about it and I'll see if I have it on hand- I will be bringing whatever remaining stock of jewellery that has already been made back to Singapore with me, so if you're lucky I might just have what you wanted :)

DON'T PANIC THOUGH! If you were eyeing some stuff for friends/family as Christmas pressies, the options are:

1. Make full use of this Christmas special and SHOP UP NOW before the 5th of December.
2. Wait till next year, when I return from holidaying, to process your order. (never too late for belated Christmas/New Year's pressies I guess... but I would still recommend the first option!)

The last week has been simply hectic for me- clearing out a heap of backlog orders from the hiatus, making a few new pieces, and also completing more new orders. Amongst these, I have a few customized pieces I'd like to share with everyone:

Aftermath of Exam Madness... BACK!

Yes, I'm back 2 days early with the products of the results of my mid-exam destressing: a lot more jewellery! (I just couldn't bear to leave this site stagnant for 48 hours more, so... HAD to make a comback!)

These pieces were tres specially made, so many of them only come with 1 available. That's also why some of them are significantly pricier, because of the limited availability of the design and the time it took me to conjure the final product. I hope you guys will like them all as much as I enjoyed making them.

The new design's nice, isn't it? I figured I had to break away from the old, loads-really-slowly layout previously to something new and refreshing. My humblest apologies everyone for the prolonged inaccessibility to the website during that week or so that it was under construction as well!

Another thing: I went crazy after the end of my exams and my mum was so kind as to bring me bead-shopping, and I am thrilled with my 3 new boxes of charms and beads just sitting there on my worktable, waiting to be used! Here's some sneak peeks of stuff that I bought:

These are just the teensiest fraction of whatever I've bought. So you'll probably be seeing these components in the new additions of jewellery in the very near future!

I keep track of all TRJ customer expenditure, and in a nutshell, there are 3 levels of membership that TRJ customers can attain: basic, gold and platinum (in increasing order of merit). Gold members (who have accumulated a minimum of AUD$100 credit) and Platinum members (who have accumulated a minimum of AUD$200 credit) have been contacted by email already. Okay, so I have been successfully ignoring this website for the past 1 month. Just a heads-up though: the new collection is definitely underway, I've made some stuff but just haven't gotten round to photographing them yet.

Hi everyone!

I'm really sorry for the immense and impending lack of updates of late... (I know I always SAY THAT!) but life has been extremely busy for me since school started. To sum it all up in a neat little phrase, it has been pretty much an academic whirlwind of stress, glum, more glum and the horrible sense of dread felt when you realize you're up to your neck in chem pracs, behind your history reading on Hitler and the infamous Nazis and all the rest of it. I can positively feel the flesh dissolving beneath my cheeks already.

Here's the deal in a nutshell: there is most certainly another collection coming up that will revolve around the theme of a nursery, abandoned toys, poignant memories of a childhood in the past etc etc along those lines, you get what I mean... and I'm very excited! I can foresee the main colour themes are going to be somewhat bronze, antique-gold sort of vintagey touchy stuff although I can say for sure there will also be the occassional inclusion of silver in places.

So yes! Stay excited, and I will be back soon. Till then, stay happy and cheery and hope I don't drown in my homework misery before managing to launch that new collection...

Finally, an update after so long! Wouldn't blame some of you if you thought the site was dead. The holidays have proved extremely hectic although much has been got out of the way with, both homework and community service-wise. (I know... don't ask. And I'm not a juvenile delinquent, in case you were thinking that!!!)

Anyway here are a few more additions to the website, largely centering around the theme of semi-precious stones and crystals. I went on an extensive bead shopping trip at the start of the holidays which is almost as satisfying (if not more!) than clothes shopping by the way, and this is the end result! Also look out for some lovely Czech glass lampwork beads in this round of jewellery, they are rather fascinating beads. DID YOU KNOW:

Hi everyone!

It's Friday! The end of another big week. And with the end of a big week comes a big update.

This time I wanted to focus more on the theme of fairy tales and the like, so I decided to name this collection 'Enchanted Tales'. Each piece of jewellery is based on a particular fairy tale, see if you can guess which one is which!

I also made an effort to include a little bit of everything in this collection, be it from rings to bracelets or the colour range from silver to antique gold. Everything is in this collection! Ths collection has hence exhausted my entire week's worth of jewellery creations, so you had better enjoy this collection!!!

I was just staring at all my swarovski crystal hearts I had the other day wondering what to do with them, when my mum came up to me and said, "You never make earrings for me anymore! Why don't you make me 7 pairs of earrings, one to wear each day of the week?" And it seemed a good idea at the time to use each colour heart for each day of the week varying only slightly in design to match the wearer's mood, which was what I did! Except I had blistered fingers by the end of 3 days (yes, I didn't make all of them in one day!!!) because I had never dealt with such teeny crystals before.

And we all love Mother Goose poems so I incorporated each colour heart to represent each day of the week. So ta-da! This special, colourful, sparklily irresistable collection is born to cater to your daily (pun intended!) earring needs.

Finally, a major update! And it just gets better: it's a collection, specially made for Mothers' Day! So stop fretting about gift ideas for mum and have a peek in this collection specially made to celebrate mothers around the world.

I named this collection Pieces of Eternity because this collection exudes the idea of a mothers' love being something that is intangible, the theme of something that is invisible yet always there. I am so excited!!!

Presenting... Locked Secrets. The Red Jewel's first ever collection of Silver Heart Lockets- in the form of an intricate necklace, together with swarovski crystal hearts and pearls. What could be prettier?

Comes in 2 colours- pink and blue. This is good for people who missed out last time on the ever popular necklace, Heartsong. I reckon the design's about the same.

Another thing: I actually have extremely limited stock of the lockets (sorry dudes, that's the way things are- good things don't come in bulk... or at least they don't this time!) so once they're sold out I will not be able to do any more remakes. Just to let you guys know!

And another thing: This will probably be the last update for a long, long time (I know- I keep saying that don't I) but I'm actually serious this time!!! Once school starts that's pretty much the end of The Red Jewel... at least for a little while, hopefully! Just as well this time's update is really gorgeous, so it is a fitting way to end the holidays for me. (*tear*)

A Quick Update.

Hi there everyone,

I have just realized that I have neglected The Red Jewel (as far as making jewellery is concerned) for quite a while haven't I! Well the holidays have proven to be slightly more busy than anticipated so I heartily apologize for this seemingly neverending hiatus.

Nevertheless- the good news.

I have actually got a few more pieces of jewellery that I have made and have yet to put up on the website, hang on to your horses.
For those of you who still remember the popular necklace 'Heartsong', (see necklaces) I am happy to announce that I am expecting a new arrival of similar heart lockets in silver, except nicer and more intricately designed!!! (I am very excited about this) So do be on the lookout for a very limited (I think I only have less than 5... oops) but gorgeous collection of silver heart locket necklaces.

By the way, what do you guys think of the newly renovated layout? I'm LOVING IT because I almost killed my eyes/brains trying to get all the html right.

See that scrolly pic of the girl on the left? That's me! I am now exist as a 'virtual shop assistant' and will be here at The Red Jewel 24/7 assisting you guys! (heh heh... actually I just thought it would be more convenient if you guys had the navigations at the side all the time.)

Hello everyone, how are we? Had a good weekend? :)

Well, here's a new necklace to add to the collection- it was originally a customization request based on the design of the Eclipse necklace, but when I finished I thought it would be a waste not to add it to the existing necklace collection, so here it is!

Made with a glass foil heart, random dottings of swarovski crystals, a huge onyx round and other random little silver/nickel coloured charms to add to the intricacy it. Presenting... Black Magic.

I've always wanted to make a predominantly silver-themed set, and this is the result of entitling myself another break from the everyday stresses of school life. This time I made an effort to stick to using higher quality materials: in this case, Swarovski pearls in teal and lots of little AB Swarovski bicone crystals in grey.

I just thought the soft mushroom and plummy colours really contributed to the whole 'soft' factor and the antique roses just about finish this lovely set's elegant look.

I decided to give myself a treat today, seeing as it is a Friday night after all and I pride myself for not having come to a mental breakdown from the past 3 weeks of school.

So, a new necklace is here! It is called 'Golden Girl', because it makes me feel happy and glowy inside thinking about something which could tentatively be a daily morale booster for people- and what better morale booster than jewellery? This necklace encourages us to stand up to the daily trials and tribulations in life and love the golden girl that lives within our hearts :)

This problem has been bugging me for quite a bit so I thought I'd get some input from you lovely people- I have been rather annoyed with the rate at which images on The Red Jewel load, even the pictures of the jewellery only all show up on an occassional basis.

I have also been playing with thoughts of completely revamping the site to match the theme of the pastel floral prints as can be seen in The Red Jewel's advertising icon:

Hello again everyone!

Thought you'd seen the last of me? NEVERRRR!!!

Firstly, I would like to apologize for the horrible incident with photobucket, my image hosting website. This is the first time that I have exceeded my monthly bandwidth, which conveniently disables all my image links as a result and makes my shop into a pile of cyber goop which left me no choice but to put my shop 'Under Construction' for about half a week. An online blog shop owner's worst nightmare indeed. Very, very sorry about that!

Secondly, ummmmmmm... I really think I shouldn't be doing this BUT I promise this is the last, final, lastlastlast of the updates everrrrrr for a long, long time. Afterwhich, school rules. Totally.

Anyhow, presenting- Heartsong. 2 lovely heart pendant necklaces in antique silver and gold, adorned with a cluster of swarovski crystals at the top to make it extra special :)

I have come up with a new feature to add to the website: it will be the Featured Jewellery Of The Month (or varying time period depending on when I feel like it!) feature! All you have to do, as TRJ customers, is to give me some feedback on a particular purchase that you really like or felt has some special meaning to you, and I will select one to display here on the website for the rest of the world to see.

I've come up with another lovely 3 piece set, this time playing with various shades of blue to create another somewhat midnight-ish tone to the jewellery. I am very pleased with the end result, but I would have to say I am particularly satisfied with the necklace, which features a silver bali-style filigree ball. I had gotten it ages ago but never actually figured out what to do with it, it was just lying there taking up space and I had to do something about it.

Heyhey! How's the first day of the new year been for everyone so far? Well, for me, it has been

1. Productive (not lying, am definitely off to a good start!)
2. Very, very hot... air conditioning... not... working...

Anyway, that aside, here's something I'd like to show you guys! I've been thinking of ways to improve the 'Past Collections' section of the website and make it look less drabby, so look what miracles new technology, thanks to Photobucket, can do for me!

Presenting... a screenshot of the spunky, new, not-so-drabby-anymore Past Collections section! It is truly exciting (even for me), just mousing over the images and seeing them pop out at you before your very eyes. Really, you have to go check it out for yourself here.

Cool or what! I'm very excited, still am.

Also, because I'm feeling decidedly happy, I shall let you guys in on a secret sneak peek of a bracelet I customized for a friend recently. This sneak peek's not actually of the real thing (where's the fun in that?) but the lovely beads and crystals I bought for making it.

Aren't they absoloutely gorgeous? Swarovski hearts in deep aquamarine, together with some rather insignificant but still prettily coloured glass pearls in a lovely shade of teal.

It's only been less than 3 months since the start of The Red Jewel, and already the end of a very fruitful year! I sincerely wish everyone a Happy New Year 2008! Here's to success, lots more pretty jewellery creations and just The Red Jewel in general!

To celebrate, here's a really exclusive update: two, in fact! I'm very proud to release my first ever ring collection! It's been a daring venture which luckily turned out the right way. You can check them out under 'miscellaneous' for more information on each individual item.

Next: Another exclusive 3 piece collection I've been working on specially to celebrate the new year with, 'The Sparkly Beginning'. As the title goes, these 3 earrings are anything but ordinary or dull. Enjoy!

While looking through some beading books recently, I picked up a very useful tip: how to make a wire jig- see picture on left. For those who bead, you'll know what I'm talking about: it basically involves a rather simple yet complicated way of using round nosed pliers to make these crazy little loops with wire.

After a few hours, lots of broken bits of wire and ugly red blisters, I finally managed to complete a wire jig creation that I was proud to call my own:

Ta-da! One of my proudest creations so far. Aren't my little wire daisies the prettiest :)
